Your Excellency, Mr. Alemayehu Tegenu, Minister of Mines and Energy,

Distinguished Guests,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is my great pleasure to attend today's Opening Ceremony of the Cement Clinker Production Line of Huangshan Cement PLC. Please allow me, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy, to extend my warmest congratulations to the investor of the project, the Guangdong Chuanhui Technology Development Group Co. Ltd. and also the management and workers of the Huangshan Cement. I would also like to express my hearty appreciation to the relevant authorities of the Ethiopian Government for their kind support and generous cooperation to make the project smooth and possible.

The Operation of Huangshan Cement Clinker Production Line is a good showcase for the successful cooperation in the field of investment between China and Ethiopia. I am very glad to see that the project helps to boost the economic development of Ethiopia by utilizing its natural resources and local labor force.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Chinese Government has always been supportive and encouraging the Chinese companies to invest in Ethiopia and to play a positive role in helping Ethiopia's industrialization efforts. I am very glad to see that, according to the Ethiopian investment agency, there were more than 700 Chinese investment projects with a volume at US$ 1.2 billion by November 2008.

There are great potentials in the cooperation between china and Ethiopia as the economies of the two countries are highly complementary. I am looking forward to more Chinese companies to come and invest in Ethiopia, which will bring more tangible benefits for the wellbeing of both peoples of the two countries. The Chinese Embassy will do its best to continue to support and provide necessary service to them.

Thank you.
