On April 25th, the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia, in conjunction with the Confucius Institute for Vocational Education in Ethiopia, the Confucius Institute at Addis Ababa University, and the Ethiopian Ruanban Workshop, held the 2025 International Chinese Language Day event. Counsellor Zhang Yawei from the Embassy and President Brook of the Ethiopian Institute of Technical and Vocational Training attended and delivered speeches. Over 100 representatives from the Ethiopian Ministry of Labor and Skills, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Institute of Technical and Vocational Training, and Chinese-funded institutions and enterprises participated.

Students from Confucius Institutes and Lu Ban Workshops, as well as representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises, showcased their talents in Chinese through speeches, songs, stand-up comedy and Chinese martial arts. They also participated in cultural experience activities such as tea art, calligraphy, paper-cutting and multi-scenario applications of artificial intelligence (DeepSeek).
