On June 13, Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia Chen Hai met with Mesfin, Chairperson of Ethiopia’s National Dialogue Commission, and its members.

Ambassador Chen highlighted outcomes from the Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Outcomes Implementation Coordinators and the 4th China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo. He emphasized China’s support for Africa’s modernization and Ethiopia’s peace-building efforts, praising the Ethiopian government and the Commission for advancing inclusive political dialogue. China reaffirmed its backing for Ethiopia’s development path suited to its national conditions and encouraged progress in domestic reconciliation and modernization.

Mesfin congratulated China on the successful FOCAC-related events, calling them pivotal steps in deepening China-Africa solidarity. He updated on Ethiopia’s national dialogue progress and expressed willingness to strengthen governance experience exchanges with China, particularly in political consultation and national unity, to sustain domestic peace and support socio-economic development.
