On June 17, Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia Chen Hai met with Ethiopian State Ministers of Foreign Affairs Hadra and Berhanu, with Counselor Xue Wei and others from the embassy in attendance.
Ambassador Chen highlighted the outcomes of the Coordinators' Meeting on Implementation of Follow-up Actions of FOCAC and the 4th China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, emphasizing the significance of China-Africa solidarity. He announced new measures to expand China's openness to Africa, outlining guidance for advancing modernization and building a closer China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era.
Noting both nations' histories of resisting foreign aggression and current roles as key Global South representatives and BRICS members, Chen proposed deepening political trust and public support through the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties. He called for strengthened strategic alignment and practical cooperation across sectors to benefit both peoples.
The Ethiopian ministers congratulated China on the successful events and reaffirmed Ethiopia's commitment to mutual support and expanded collaboration with China across all fields, pledging fresh contributions to the China-Africa shared future vision.
Both sides also exchanged views on bilateral and multilateral issues of common concern.
