Over the recent years, the China-Ethiopia relationship, on the basis of traditional friendship, has achieved great progress and remarkable results in various fields. The legislative organs of the two countries have carried out excellent exchanges and cooperation, which plays an important role in promoting our bilateral relations. I wish to work with Your Excellency to further enhance the friendly cooperation between the National People's Congress of China and the House of People's Representatives of Ethiopia so as to open up new prospects for the China-Ethiopian relations.

Since the establishment of diplomatic ties 40 years ago between China and Ethiopia, the bilateral relations have been developing in a healthy and stable manner. The sound relationship between the legislative organs of the two countries with solid foundation has become an important component of the all-round cooperative partnership between China and Ethiopia.
