On September 30, the Embassy of China in Ethiopia and the Mission of China to the African Union held a reception in Addis Ababa to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Ambassador Chen Hai, Ambassador Hu Changchun, Head of the Mission of China to the African Union,  and over a thousand diplomats from various countries in Ethiopia and the African Union, as well as friends from all walks of life in Ethiopia, attended the event. 

Ambassador Chen delivered a speech, reviewing the achievements made by New China over the past 75 years and the course of friendly relations between China and Ethiopia. He emphasized that the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China demonstrated China's determination to further comprehensively deepen reform and expand high-level opening up, which will bring new opportunities to African countries including Ethiopia. Ambassador Chen introduced the consensus reached at the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, stating that China will take the implementation of the important consensus reached by the leaders of China and Ethiopia and the outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit as an opportunity to deepen cooperation in various fields and further benefit the two countries and their people. 

Guests including Muralu extended warm congratulations on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, highly praising China's development achievements and its contributions to world peace and development, and expressing their best wishes for China's prosperity and the in-depth development of friendly cooperation between Ethiopia and China as well as between Africa and China. 

The reception was warm and friendly. The guests present watched Chinese cultural and artistic performances together and visited the photo exhibitions showcasing China's development achievements and China-Ethiopia and China-Africa cooperation.
