On May 8th, 2009, Ambassador Mahdi, Director General of the Middle East, Asian and Oceania Affairs and other DGs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited Noah Textile Company, Sino-Ethiopian Associate (Africa) P.L.C., Ethiopia Hansom International Glass P.L.C. and the Ethiopian National Date Exchange Center operated by ZTE, in the accompany of Mr. Zhang Yuebang, Charge d’ Affairs a.i. of the Chinese Embassy and Mr. Qian Zhaogang, Commercial Counsellor.

During the visit, the Ethiopian officials listened to the introduction from the Chinese enterprises carefully and promised to help solve the problems faced by the enterprisers. Ambassador Mahdi expressed his gratitude to the Chinese Embassy to arrange this visit, and appreciated highly the contribution made by Chinese enterprises to Ethiopian economic development. He said the visit to these enterprises today gave him and his colleagues a deep and direct experience of the economic cooperation of the two countries.
