On November 12th, Ambassador Chen Hai of China to Ethiopia met with the new Foreign Minister of Ethiopia, Gediun. 

Ambassador Chen conveyed Foreign Minister Wang Yi's greetings to Foreign Minister Gideon and once again congratulated him on his assumption of office. The two sides had an in-depth communication on the implementation of the important consensus reached at the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the meetings between the leaders of the two countries. They agreed that they would take the implementation of relevant work as the main line, promote high-level exchanges between the two sides, enhance exchanges of experience in governance, promote multi-field exchanges and cooperation, deepen coordination and cooperation in regional and international affairs, and advance the all-weather strategic partnership between China and Ethiopia to a deeper and more solid level. 

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.
