On January 21st, Ambassador Chen Hai of the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia visited the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC), the largest media organization in Ethiopia. Accompanied by the CEO of EBC, Getnet, Ambassador Chen visited the company's historical exhibition and TV and radio studios. The two sides exchanged views on deepening cooperation in the field of broadcasting and television. Counsellor Zhang Yawei of the Embassy and others attended.

Ambassador Chen congratulated EBC on its 90th anniversary, introduced the latest achievements in China's broadcasting and television sector, and stated that the Chinese Embassy will work together with EBC to implement the outcomes and consensus reached at the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the meetings between the leaders of the two countries, further promoting exchanges and cooperation in the broadcasting and television field and enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

Getnet highly praised China's support and assistance to Ethiopia in the field of radio and television, expressing a positive willingness to promote exchanges and cooperation in this area. The two sides agreed that Chinese TV dramas would be broadcast on EBC in the near future. They will also cooperate on the first "China-Ethiopia Film and Television Culture Festival" to be held in Addis Ababa in December.
