On December 23rd, Ambassador Chen Hai of the Chinese Embassy in Ethiopia met with Adem Farah, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the ruling Ethiopian Prosperity Party. Counsellor Fan Guifen of the Embassy was also present.

Ambassador Chen introduced the latest development of China and the implementation of the spirit of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, congratulated the Prosperity Party on its 5th anniversary and the achievements of exchanges and cooperation between the two parties of China and Ethiopia, and positively evaluated the recent progress made by Ethiopia in promoting national reconciliation, economic reform and regional peace and stability. China is willing to work with Ethiopia to take the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries next year as an opportunity to further implement the spirit of the summit and the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen exchanges of experience in governance, deepen practical cooperation and mutual learning of civilizations, jointly oppose external interference, and work together to promote modernization. It is hoped that Ethiopia will further improve the business environment, solve the difficulties and concerns of Chinese-funded enterprises in Ethiopia, and promote the high-level development of friendly cooperation between China and Ethiopia. 

Adem highly appraised China's development achievements and its contributions to world peace and development. He introduced the situation of the Prosperity Party's construction and stated that the Prosperity Party will, in accordance with the positioning requirements of the all-weather strategic partnership between the two countries, work together with China to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, strengthen exchanges and learning of governance experience with the Communist Party of China, and play a greater role in maintaining national unity, implementing economic development goals, optimizing the business environment, and improving people's livelihood and well-being, so as to promote the friendly cooperation between China and Ethiopia to a new level.
