Ambassador Chen Hai met with the Governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia, Mamo Mihretu

On March 10th, Ambassador Chen Hai of the Embassy of China in Ethiopia met with the Governor of the Central Bank of Ethiopia, Mamo Mihretu. Minister-Counsellor Liu Xiaoguang of the Embassy was also present.

Ambassador Chen briefed on the convening of China's Two Sessions and positively evaluated the achievements made by Ethiopia in advancing economic and financial reforms. Ambassador Chen stated that China and Ethiopia, as important representatives of the Global South, should jointly maintain the momentum of BRICS cooperation and promote the high-quality development of "BRICS Plus". He hoped that Ethiopia would focus on the potential of China's trade and investment and further create a favorable investment and business environment to facilitate the deepening of practical cooperation between the two countries. 

Mamo congratulated China on the convening of the Two Sessions, stating that China's domestic and foreign policies demonstrate stability and continuity, injecting more certainty into the uncertain international situation. China is Ethiopia's most important economic partner and has been its largest trading partner and the largest source of investment for many consecutive years. The Ethiopian side attaches great importance to its partnership with China and is willing to deepen practical cooperation in areas such as finance under the BRICS cooperation mechanism and make efforts to further improve the business environment.
