On June 29, Ambassador to Ethiopia Chen Hai met with Adem Farah, Vice President and General Secretary of Ethiopia's ruling Prosperity Party. Counselor Fan Guifen of the Embassy and others were in attendance.

Ambassador Chen congratulated the Prosperity Party on winning the seventh general election and delivered a congratulatory letter from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), while presenting Adem with the fifth volume of *Xi Jinping: The Governance of China*. Ambassador Chen introduced Xi Jinping's thoughts on party building and the experience of Chinese-style modernization. He stated that on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC and the Prosperity Party's election victory, both sides should leverage the leading role of their respective parties to strengthen the alignment between China's "15th Five-Year Plan" and the Prosperity Party's new five-year governing strategy. He emphasized maintaining close exchanges between the two parties, deepening the exchange of governance experience, and promoting the high-quality development of pragmatic cooperation in various fields. China is willing to work with Ethiopia to better implement policies such as zero tariffs for Africa in Ethiopia, advance cooperation on the "Belt and Road" and the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway Prosperity Belt, and support more Chinese enterprises in investing and operating in Ethiopia. He expressed hope that the Ethiopian side would further create a safe and favorable environment for Chinese-funded enterprises and institutions.

Adem congratulated the CPC on its 105th anniversary, spoke highly of the significance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era for both China and the world, and praised the great achievements made by the Chinese people under the leadership of the CPC. Aden briefed on the Ethiopian general election and the Prosperity Party's future governance direction. He stated that the Prosperity Party hopes to deepen the exchange of governance experience between the two parties, better learn from the CPC's experience in ideological, organizational, and stylistic construction, and safeguard the deepening of friendly cooperation between the two countries. He committed to creating a more favorable environment for Chinese enterprises to invest and operate in Ethiopia and further promoting the in-depth development of the all-weather strategic partnership between the two nations.
